Your computer disconnects from the internet
First thing we should always do before troubleshooting any problem
is to RUN A VIRUS SCAN!! After any and all viruses have been removed we have to determine which
type of provider you are using. Do you get your internet access through the cable company or
the phone company? If you get it through the phone company there is a very slight chance
that your sessions are just timing out – really nothing you can do about it, except to
contact your service provider. If this is not the problem and you use the phone line to connect
to the internet make sure that you have call waiting disabled. If the problem still persists
then there may be a problem with your modem. If possible try a new modem, borrow one - don't buy, as
we are still in the troubleshooting phase. If the problem still persists then you should contact
us and we’ll be happy to resolve the problem!
For broadband users internet disconnects are not as
frequent. For this reason they are a little more complicated to troubleshoot. Without getting into
complicated details there are a couple of things that you can do to rule out some potential problems.
First things first, RUN A VIRUS SCAN!! Next you should check the back of your computer, where
the internet cable connects to it and look for a link light. If all is good then the light should be
green. If there are problems then the light will be orange / yellow. If you still have a problem
then try replacing your network cable. You may also try rebooting your cable modem (if at all possible).
If the problem is still present then you should contact us and we’ll be happy to resolve the
problem!
