Your computer freezes up:
This problem can be caused by a variety of things: viruses
and / or loaded software or even hardware. We’ll start with viruses and Trojans as they
are most commonly the problem. To
eliminate these as causes to the problem you should run your anti-virus software
– fix / remove any problems found. You
may also want to download, install, and run Spybot, a
tool used to identify and remove spyware. After the virus scan, and if you
ran spybot, you should reboot the machine. Now proceed to use the computer and see if
the problem still occurs.
If the problem still occurs then you might have a ‘lack of
memory’ problem. There are two simple
solutions to this problem: get more
memory (hardware), or limit the number of applications that are loaded and
being used. Though most people would not
like to be restricted by the type or number of applications that their computer
runs, it may be necessary due to the computers ability to only recognize a
certain amount of memory.
